Two people are facing serious charges following an incident this week in Elliott in which a middle aged woman was kidnapped and severely beaten.
The Grenada County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man they identified as Sam T. Hearn, 57, and a woman they identified as Brandy Williamson Hyde, 38, in connection with the Sunday morning incident.

“Deputies found the woman, 49, inside a closet and severely beaten,” Dale said. “She had an extension cord around her neck.”
Dale said a witness called the authorities.
“Deputies discovered methamphetamine inside the home when they arrived,” Dale said. “The victim was transported to the local hospital and later transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Jackson.
