New director hired for Economic Development

The Grenada County Economic Development District has named Matthew Harrison as its new executive director.

Harrison takes over the position vacated by Pablo Diaz who resigned in April.

According to GCEDD Board Chairman Keith Mitchell Harrison’s focal point in business relationship management helps bridge the gap between new emerging industries and Grenada County.

“The GCEDD is pleased to announce the selection of Matthew Harrison as the new Executive Director,” Mitchell said. “He will bring a highly diversified 18-year career portfolio encompassing economic development, business technology, automotive, and manufacturing.”

Mitchell said Harrison has had the opportunity to work with multiple Fortune 500 companies such as Toyota Motor Manufacturing and Engineering, Mercedes Benz USA, and the Xerox Corporation.
