Deputies with the Grenada County Sheriff’s Department acted fast Thursday when an all-points bulletin was sent out on a man wanted for aggravated assault by authorities in Ridgeland.
According to Grenada County Sheriff Alton Strider, after the all-points bulletin (BOLO) was sent, deputies soon spotted a man identified as Sam Johnson, 39, of Jackson, driving through Grenada on Interstate 55. Johnson was sought in connection with the shooting of two people at a Ridgeland nursing home Thursday morning around 6 a.m.
Deputy Steve Howell, according to Strider, was the first to identify the white Lincoln car that was driven by Johnson, which was said in the alert to be the vehicle in question. “They identified the vehicle driving southbound on the interstate,” Strider said.
