Third arrest in Adams Street killing

Staff Writer

Authorities have arrested a third man on murder and aggravated assault charges in connection with a shooting on Adams Street two weeks ago.

According to Assistant Police Chief Capt. George Douglas, a man he identified as 22-year-old Jervarian Young surrendered to authorities Friday afternoon.

Last week police issued an arrest warrant for Young following an Adams Street shooting that left an 18-year-old man dead and a woman critically injured.

“This case remains under investigation, and we’re continuing to look at every avenue of this incident,” Douglas said.

Young is being held at the Grenada County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
The 18-year-old killed in the shooting was identified as Alexander Trevone Farmer.

Following the shooting, police arrested two men they identified as Todderick Crawford, 21, of Shelby Drive and Kelvin Mohead, 17, of Forrest Hill Drive.

According to police, Crawford was arrested at a gas station on Lakeview Drive, and Mohead was arrested at the Grenada Police Department.
Both Crawford and Mohead are also being held at the Grenada County Jail on $500,000 bond.
