One overdue audit is expected to be available this week, according to one city official.
The year-old FY 2014-15 audit is expected soon, according to Grenada City Manager Trey Baker.
The 2014-2015 (FYE 2015) audit was due by Oct. 1, 2016.
“I spoke with my people Friday, and plans are to have to us ready pretty soon,” Baker said.
In May, the Grenada City Council voted to give hired CPA Ronnie Windham $125 an hour to finish the past-due city audits.
According to the city’s May claim docket, Windham was paid $17,000 in January for work on the audit and another $8,300 for work he did in Nov. 2016.
The city’s FY 2014 audit was approved by the city council in February, and according to Windham, two more audits may be completed by the year’s end.
“Everything appears to be on track considering that we were three years behind at one point,” Baker said.
