Cooley reelected Duck Hill mayor

The town of Duck Hill has spoken and has elected Joey Cooley to yet another term as mayor in what was a very close race.

Cooley, who is entering his fifth term, received 89 votes, just three ahead of Tyrone Harbin.
Harbin received 86 votes, and the Rev. Randy Everette was third with 49 votes. Fatima Beck-Young received five votes.

In the race for aldermen positions, Lula Brown was the top vote-getter with 181 votes.
Lovanda Farmer received the second-highest number of votes with 165. Cynthia Brown Kountz received 160 votes, and Linda Bennett got the fourth spot with 150 votes.

For the fifth and final spot, Leroy Nash received 128 votes, leaving Al White out of the alderman mix. White received 125 votes.
