The Kirk Academy basketball teams were looking to gain some needed momentum heading into this weekend’s District 1-AAA Tournament.
Monday, they hosted East Webster, a member of the Mississippi High School Activities Association to close the regular season.
The girls were looking for someone to push them after going through a division schedule that was not as good as in year’s past.
On the boys’ side, the Raiders were hoping to gain from the momentum after beating Class AAAA member Magnolia Heights at the buzzer last Friday.
The Raiderettes got what they wanted. They led the Lady Wolverines 37-25 before pulling away for a 63-42 decision.
The Raiders weren’t as fortunate and lost a 47-35 decision.
With the win, Kirk is 28-3 on the girls’ side. The Raiders are 20-8.
