Cecil Lynn Beckham Jr.
   Graveside services for Cecil Lynn Beckham Jr., 83, of Grenada, were at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at New Hope Cemetery in Tallahatchie County.
   Visitation was Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at National Funeral Home Chapel.
   Mr. Beckham died Aug. 21, 2014, at Grace Health and Rehab Center in Grenada.
   He was born on Sept. 13, 1930, to Cecil Lynn Beckham Sr. “Shorty” and Ruby Ross Beckham of Sunflower County.
   He retired from Randall Textron after 30+ years as stockroom manager. Mr. Beckham was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church at Pearidge. He loved playing the guitar and singing and was a member of the Grenada Square Dance Club and loved being on the go. Mr. Beckham was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict.
   He is survived by two sons, Cecil Lynn Beckham III of Coffeeville and David Hunter Beckham (Linda) of Grenada; seven grandchildren, Kassie Leigh Beckham, Annie Lynn Beckham, Leann Manuel, Pam Manuel, Curtis Manuel, Jennifer Lovelace and Candy Lovelace; extended family, Betty Love Baldwin and her children, Cindy and Terry; grandchildren, Amanda, Amber, Kirk and Audry; and great-grandchildren, Jade, Sara, Brody, and Joseph.
   Mr. Beckham was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae Little Beckham; one son, John Robert Beckham; his parents; one sister, Lillie Faye Beckham; and one great-grandchild, Angelena Beckham.

Hylan Crowder
   A graveside service for Hylan Crowder, 93, of Winona, was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Winona Garden of Memory.
   Mr. Crowder died Aug. 22, 2014, at Winona Manor of heart failure.  
   He was born on Feb. 11, 1921, in the Huntsville Community to the late Mack Floyd and Sallie Virginia Brown Crowder.  
   Mr. Crowder was a retired employee of J. A. Olson Company and a member of Huntsville Presbyterian Church. He was an avid hunter.  
   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Crowder Ballard; and a son, Hylan Lynn Crowder.
   Mr. Crowder is survived by his wife, Dovie Overstreet Crowder of Winona; two daughters, Sally Crowder Bennett and Paula Crowder Shaw, both of Winona; a son, Paul Crowder of Muncy Valley, Pa.; three sisters, Neva Crowder May, Jean Crowder Leonard and Barbara Crowder Spivey; one brother, Lloyd “Buddy” Crowder; and four grandchildren.

Rita Faye Pearson Fillyaw
   Funeral services for Rita Faye Pearson Fillyaw, 55, of Charleston, were at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Newsom Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial followed in Friendship Church of God Cemetery.
   Mrs. Fillyaw died Aug. 21, 2014, in Charleston.
   She was a cashier at Southern Discount Pharmacy in Charleston and attended Cowart Baptist Church.  
   Mrs Fillyaw was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Irene Pearson; and a brother, Wayne Pearson.
   She is survived by her husband, Jamie Fillyaw of  Charleston; three daughters, April Dawn Woods of Southaven, Rhonda Lynn Smith of Charleston and Rita Michelle Little of Charleston; a sister, Debbie Sue Dobbs of Ackerman; a brother, Ricky Pearson of Charleston; and nine grandchildren.

Gerald Ford
   Funeral services for Gerald Ford, 64, of Water Valley, are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Taylor U.M. Church in Taylor, Miss. A private graveside service will follow at Shipp Cemetery in Oxford.
   Mr. Ford died Aug. 23, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi in Oxford.  
   He was born in Memphis to the late Roy Harold and Effie Phillips Ford.
   Mr. Ford was a retired farmer. He was a member of Taylor U.M. Church and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and formerly loved working with his cows.
   He is survived by his wife, Annette Ford of Water Valley; a son, Patton Wayne Ford of Pope; a brother, Lee Ford of Kosciusko; and two grandchildren.

William L. Hodge
   Funeral services for William L. Hodge, 90, of Water Valley, were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Burial followed in Old Union Cemetery in Lafayette County.
Bro. Hodge died Aug. 20, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
   He was born on Nov. 29, 1923, in Lafayette County, to the late Edgar and Della Davis Hodge.  
   Bro. Hodge retired from the United States Army and worked for many years as a carpenter. He was a Baptist minister and pastored several churches in the surrounding counties including: New Hope and Calvary in Coffeeville, Hopewell in Yalobusha County, Second Baptist in Water Valley, Paris Baptist Church, Springdale in Lafayette County, Turkey Creek and Driver’s Flat in Calhoun County. He enjoyed gardening, remodeling homes, watching old westerns and spending time with his coffee-drinking buddies at Turnage Drug Store. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family.
   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, William Eddie Hodge, Bill Hodge and Ronnie Hodge; and a granddaughter.
   Bro. Hodge is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mirl Harwell Hodge of Water Valley; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

John Clark Molpus

   A celebration of life for John Clark Molpus, 31, was held Friday, Aug. 15, at Grace Crossing Church in Collierville, Tenn.
   John Clark was preceded in death by his grandparents, Senator James Molpus and Juanice Herr and Leonard Herr.
   He is survived by his father and mother, John and Becky Molpus; grandparents, Jean and Roy Harbin; a sister, Karen Molpus Aiken; a niece, Lillian Aiken; a nephew, Hank Aiken; and his aunts and uncles, Wanda and Chad Shaw, Fred and Sandy Molpus, Robert and Beth Molpus and Danny Sheppard.

Gregory Spencer Mullen

   In the early hours of the morning, on Aug. 26, 2014, Gregory Spencer Mullen of Hernando, Miss., passed away. A visitation will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, at Garner-Harper Funeral Home in Grenada with a graveside service immediately following at 10:30 a.m. Mr. Mullen will be laid to rest at Oddfellows Cemetery, in Grenada.
   A native of Grenada, Mr. Mullen was the only son of the late  Spencer Mullen Jr., and Margie McCorkle Mullen. Greg, to all that knew him, was a 1974 Graduate of Kirk Academy and a 1978 graduate of Delta State University, where he obtained a degree in Business Administration. Greg held many administrative positions in his life, including administrator of Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona and was employed as a financial analyst with Boyd Gaming in Tunica at the time of his death. He also held various leadership roles throughout his lifetime including: Winona Rotary Club President, Winona Christian School Booster Club President, and Paul Harris Fellow.
   Greg is survived by his daughter, Lynn (Will) Russell of Jackson; son, Tabor (Jackie) Mullen of Starkville; grandson, Carson Mullen of Starkville; sister, Debbie Bailey of Grenada; and mother, Margie Mullen of Grenada.  
   In lieu of flowers, it is the family wish that contributions in memory of Mr. Mullen be made to Winona Christian School, 1014 South Applegate St., Winona, MS, 38967.

James Sansom

   Funeral services for James A. Sansom, 77, of Water Valley, were at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley.
   Mr. Sansom died Aug. 21, 2014, at his home in Water Valley.  
   He was born on Feb. 21, 1937, to the late Carl B. and Odell Martin Sansom.
   Mr. Sansom was an over-the-road truck driver and traveled widely for many years.  His passion was people, and his occupation allowed him to engage with people from all walks of life.  Mr. Sansom was a Baptist.
   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Sansom.
   Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Pat Sansom of Water Valley; five sons, Jim Sansom of Leslie, Mo, Alex Sansom of Union, Mo., John Sansom of Memphis, Tom Sansom of Marthasville, Mo., and Gary Sansom of Water Valley; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Frances Elizabeth Sledge
   A graveside committal service for Frances Elizabeth Sledge, 59, of Kilmichael, was held Friday, Aug. 22, at Mt. Airy Cemetery in Choctaw County.
   Mrs. Sledge died Aug. 18, 2014, at her home of heart failure.  
   She was born on Dec. 18, 1954.
   Mrs. Sledge was a former CNA at Winona Manor in Winona.  
   She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Frances McCarty.
   Mrs. Sledge is survived by her husband, Doyle Lamar Sledge Jr. of Kilmichael; and three brothers, Frank McCarty of Indianola, Jimmy McCarty of Mississippi, and George Kelly Jr. of Louisiana.
