Balloon Fest promising August fun

   The Lake City is getting set for its annual Balloons Over Grenada Festival, and this year promises to a good time for all.
   The festival will be Aug. 21-23.
   “We have lots of fun and exciting activities and great music for people of all ages to enjoy,” said Samantha Hilums, Executive Director of the Grenada Tourism Commission.
   It kicks off with family night at the carnival at 5 p.m.
   “We’ll have food vendors, rides, games, a midway and all sorts of fun, family activities, said Hilmus.
   The carnival resumes August 22, at noon, along cartoon-shaped balloons for the kids, tethered balloon rides in the evening and a balloon glow at 8 p.m. After darkness falls, the tethered balloons will rise and fire their burners to display their magnificent colors. Fireworks begin at dark and music will continue into the night. The lineup will include Milestone, Jonathan Brown, Kristin Brassel and Joe Kendall and Band.
