Vanqueisha Tierra Rena Carr
   Funeral services for Vanqueisha Tierra Rena “Nay” Carr, 20, of Oxford, were at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Water Valley Civic Auditorium. Burial followed in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Water Valley.
   Miss Carr died July 12, 2014, at her residence.
   She was born on Oct. 26, 1993, to Velvet “Missy” Carr and the late Walter L. Williams.  
   Miss Carr confessed hope in Christ at Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church in Water Valley and later joined Sanders Chapel M.B. Church. She attended Water Valley High School and later went to Northwest Mississippi Community College, where she received her degree as a certified nursing assistant, also receiving a Student of the Year Award.
   She is survived by her daughter, Kamya Rena Carr; five sisters, Latashia, Sequoya, Dearra, Teriah, and Amalarie; five brothers,  Stacy, Demond, Kyntorris, all of Charleston, Corey and Cornelius, both of Water Valley; her step-father, Curtis Lewis of Water Valley; and a host of grandparents, aunts, uncles great-aunts, great-uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
   Seven Oaks Funeral Home was in charge.

Donny Crosthwait
   Funeral services for Donny Crosthwait, 71, of Duck Hill, were at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Garner-Harper Funeral Home. Burial followed in Elliott Baptist Church Cemetery.
   Mr. Crosthwait died July 13, 2014, in Grenada.
   He was the son of the late Donald Crosthwait and Anna Hall Crosthwait.
   Mr. Crosthwait served in the National Guard, worked in building supply and was a member of Elliott Baptist Church.
   He is survived by his wife, Linda Marter Crosthwait of Duck Hill; and a sister, Jan Liles of Gore Springs.
   Memorials may be made to Elliott Baptist Church, 566 Nat G. Troutt Road, Elliott, MS 38926.

Mary Lee Maxwell Lovvorn
   Funeral services for Mary Lee Maxwell Lovvorn, 78, of Memphis, are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery.
   Visitation is Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at National Funeral Home.
   Ms. Lovvorn died Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Baptist East in Memphis.
   She was born on Oct. 19, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Ernest Maxwell and Lillie Bell Lane Maxwell.
   Ms. Lovvorn was employed by Krystal Restaurant as a waitress. She was a Protestant.
   She is survived by two sons, Jerry Lovvorn of Memphis and Faron Lovvorn of Houston, Texas.

Sharon Tubb Martindale
   Funeral services for Sharon Tubb Martindale, 53, of Courtland, were at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville. Burial followed in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
   Mrs. Martindale died July 16, 2014, in Courtland.
   She was born on Oct. 2, 1960, in Amory, to Doyle and Joyce Box Tubb.
   Mrs. Martindale worked as a department manager for Walmart in Batesville for 20 years, having retired in 2007. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Batesville, but attended Hosanna Family Worship Center in Pope. She was also a member of the Batesville Shriners Club.
   She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Randy Martindale of Courtland; her parents, Dolye and Joyce Box Tubb of Charleston; two sons, Chris Martindale and Cliff Martindale, both of Courtland; a sister, Darlene Evans of Oakland; a brother, Wade Tubb of Oakland; and two grandchildren.
   Wells Funeral Home was in charge.

Bobby Gene Stone
   Funeral services for Bobby Gene Stone, 74, of Water Valley, were at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 19, in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
   Mr. Stone died July 16, 2014, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford.  
   He was born on May 8, 1940, to James and Ardelle Litton Stone in Water Valley.
   Mr. Stone served in the U.S. Army. He returned to Water Valley and worked as a farmer and as a mechanic for UPS before his retirement. His family and his grandchildren were his greatest treasure. He was a member of First Christian Church of Water Valley.
   In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Jimmie Stone; and a brother, Ernest C. Stone.
   Survivors include a daughter, Carla Stone of Newbern, Tenn.; a step-daughter, Judy Miller of Water Valley; a step-son, Mike Todd of Water Valley; a brother, Charles Stone of Water Valley; and five grandchildren.
   Seven Oaks Funeral Home was in charge.

Mary H. Morrison Vint
   Mary H. Morrison Vint, 87, of Grenada, died Friday, July 18, 2014. She was born on Jan. 8, 1927, in Grenada to Arthur Lee Hemphill and Cannie Fowler Hemphill.
   She was a retired bookkeeper. She worked for W.E. Jackson, Morrison Tire Shop, Sunburst Bank and Walmart. She was a member of South Side Church of Christ in Pasadena, Texas.
   Visitation was Monday, July 21, from 1-3 p.m. at Garner-Harper Funeral Home with funeral services following at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Garner-Harper Funeral Home. Interment followed in Woodlawn Cemetery.
   Survivors include a son, Johnny Morrison of Grenada; a daughter, Trudy Green of Grenada; a sister, Maggie Bradford of Grenada; four grandchildren, Laura Daves of Coila, Tina Morrison, Sydney Samples and Hank Hood of Grenada; and three great-grandchildren, Foley Daves, Mary Micah Jolly and Bailey Daves.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Albert Clay Morrison Sr. and Dr. William H. Vint; one son, Albert Morrison Jr.; a brother, William Hemphill; and one great-grandson, Tucker Clay Daves.
