It’s been more than a year since an unknown assailant shot and killed young Shayla Miers, and her family is still looking for answers.
Miers, 23, was shot to death in her home in Duck Hill on April 5, 2013. Her body was discovered at approximately 6:30 p.m., in the front room.
Miers was a night manager at Popeye’s Chicken in Grenada. She had a five-year-old daughter and lived with her parents.
“How could it be that one day the police are saying they’re waiting for feedback from the state crime lab, and the next day there’s no communication at all?” said Ricky Miers, the victim’s father.
