Tarrus Metcalf, one of the rising coaches in North Mississippi, gets his chance to coach at the state’s highest classification.
He was hired Tuesday night officially by the Grenada School Board of Trustees to assume the duties as boy’s basketball coach at Grenada High School. Metcalf takes over for Jaworski Rankin, who left to take a position at Aberdeen High School.
Metcalf comes to Grenada from Coahoma County High School in Clarksdale. He spent eight seasons there, five of them as head boys’ coach. He also coached the girls’ program.
