Grenada police have formally charged a man with murder in connection with the death of a young woman found dead in her apartment last week.
According to Capt. George Douglas, a man he identified as James Williams, 34, of Grenada, now faces murder charges in connection with the death of Candice D. Davis, 33, who was unresponsive in her apartment on the 300 block of Main Street around 12:35 a.m. Wednesday.
Davis was pronounced dead on the scene by Grenada County Coroner Eddie “Skeeter” Robinson, Douglas said.
Williams was arrested in Memphis around 2 a.m. Thursday by federal marshals. He was picked up on a warrant issued for his arrest in Akron, Ohio, for violation of a protection order Davis had against him, Douglas said.
