Like most coaches, Grenada High School boys’ basketball coach Jaworski Rankin challenges his players almost on a daily basis.
Prior to Tuesday’s Region 1-6A contest at home with Tupelo, Rankin challenged his players to go out and play well together. There have been few games this season where the five starters have played well together.
That all changed at the GHS gymnasium.
The Chargers put four of five starters in double figures as GHS won a 78-55 decision over the Golden Wave.
With the victory, Grenada improves to 15-10 overall and 4-1 inside the region. Tupelo is 15-9 and 5-1. The Chargers can clinch the regular season title with a win at home against South Panola Tuesday.
