The full  handoff of Grenada Lake Medical Center into the hands University of Mississippi Medical Center went off without a hitch Tuesday, according to administrative and county personnel.
“Everything is going well, in terms of finalizing the legal aspects, and we’re looking forward to being present in Grenada in a more fully-realized way,” said UMMC Chief Public Affairs and Communications Officer Tom Fortner.
Board President and District Two Supervisor Chad Bridges agreed.
“We’re expecting a tremendous, long-term partnership that will benefit the people of Grenada County and the surrounding areas, and I and the Board of Supervisors are excited about it,” said  Bridges. “The temporary administrative agreement has gone well, and we’re confident that the long-term lease will go equally as well.”
