Coffeeville officer shot; another man dies in struggle

   A Coffeeville police officer is in stable condition and a another man is dead after a shooting Sunday.
   A source at the Coffeeville police department, who refused to give his name, said Monday that an unnamed officer was shot inside the city limits during a confrontation Sunday night.
   According to an e-mail from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, an officer responded to a domestic violence call in the 200 block of Rayburn St. at approximately 9 p.m.
   The e-mail reads: “Police had David Long, who lives at that address, and is wheelchair bound, outside the house at approximately 10:30 p.m. when he pulled a handgun and began firing at the officer. The officer returned fire, killing Long. The officer was struck four times and airlifted to a Memphis hospital where he is undergoing treatment.”
   The MBI is conducting an investigation, according to the e-mail.
