GHS graduation

One hundred and eighty seniors will be participating in the Grenada High School graduation ceremonies to receive their diplomas Friday.

The ceremonies will take place at 8 p.m. at Charger Stadium. Top honorees will be Charlie Worsham, valedictorian; and Rebecca Taylor, salutatorian.

Both students completed this year with a 4.0 overall average.


Worsham is the son of Gary and Sherry Worsham of Grenada.

Worsham is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, National Honor Society, where he serves as treasurer and is an AP Scholar.

His activities and honors include National Merit Finalist, Star Student, Mu Alpha Theta, and a member of the mock trial team. Worsham plans to pursue a degree in music production and engineering at Berklee College in Boston, Mass.


Taylor is the daughter of Becky and Wayne Taylor of Grenada. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church were she serves in the youth council.

Her activities and honors included the National Honor Society, Anchor Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and 4-H Leadership.

Taylor was also a member of the Mock Trial Team, FCA, Student Council, cheerleader captain, UCA All-Star, Color Guard, soccer captain, cheerleader captain, State Science Fair, Exchange Student of the Year, Sub-Deb Cotillion Club and the Father Joe Rowland Award for the highest average among four year athletes and best defense in soccer.

Taylor plans to attend the University of Mississippi in the early entry pharmacy program.

Both Worsham and Taylor said that they would like to thank their counselors, family and friends.
