Catherine B. Morris

BATESVILLE – Catherine Borchert Morris, 72, died Tuesday at Beverly Health Care in Batesville.

Mrs. Morris was a retired insurance secretary. She was a member of Locke Station Baptist Church.

The funeral was at 10 a.m. today at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ray Legge and Eugene Howell officiating. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville.

Mrs. Morris is survived by a sister, Margaret Borchert Pearson of Batesville.

Wells Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Millard E. Whittemore

Millard E. Whittemore, 87, of Grenada, a native of Lee County, died Tuesday at Grenada Lake Medical Center.

Mr. Whittemore was a retired ABF driver. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Woodsmen of the World, Masonic Lodge No. 31, and Teamsters Union.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial will be in Grenada Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, and from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the church.

Mr. Whittemore was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Whittemore.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes Canon Whittemore of Grenada; three sons, Earl Whittemore, Jim Whittemore and Roy Lee Whittemore, all of Grenada; a daughter, Betty Whittemore Harrison of Laurel Hill, Fla.; two stepsons, Tommy Williams of Alexandria, La. and Jimmy Williams of Montgomery, Ala.; three stepdaughters, Faye Moore, Dene Shedd, both of Jackson and Linda Monroe of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister, Velma Farris of Corinth; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren.

National Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
