John T. Abbey

GREENWOOD – John Tyler Abbey, 53, of Jackson, a native of Greenwood, died Monday at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Graveside services were at 3 p.m. today at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Carroll County with the Rev. Joseph Sansing officiating.

Mr. Abbey is survived by two brothers, Walter Abbey of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Dan Abbey of Pensacola, Fla.; and a sister, Doll Ricks of Carrollton.

Williams & Lord Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Johnnie G. Hipp

Johnnie Gay Hipp, 83, of Grenada, died Tuesday at Grenada Lake Medical Center.

Mrs. Hipp was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at National Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Larry Windham and Harold Simmons officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Tula Cemetery in Lafayette County.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hipp was the widow of H.W. Hipp.

She is survived by three sons, Tommy Hipp, John W. Hipp and Walter L. Hipp, all of Grenada; a daughter, Martha Johnson of Grenada; and two grandsons, Randy Wayne Hipp of Grenada and Michael Allen Hipp of Horn Lake.

National Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Millard E. Whittemore

Millard E. Whittemore, 87, of Grenada, died Tuesday at the Grenada Lake Medical Center.

The funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
