Barbara S. Beckwith

WINONA – Barbara Shell Beckwith, 67, of Carrollton, died Saturday at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood.

Mrs. Beckwith was homemaker and retired employee of Hickock Electronics. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Longview Cemetery near Carrollton.

Mrs. Beckwith was the widow of James Beckwith.

She is survived by three sons, Robert W. Beckwith of Madison, Edward L. Beckwith of McCarley and James Beckwith of Carrollton; two daughters, Linda S. Allred Ruleville and Sarah Ussery of Sidon; three brothers, B.T. Bailey Jr. of Jefferson, Ala., M.C. Bailey of Newport News, Va. and Robert L. Bailey of Athens, Ga.; two sisters, Helen Browning of Winona and Charlotte Scarberry of Pelahatchie; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Lee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Alan B. Collins

Alan B. Collins, 53, of Duck Hill, died Tuesday at Winona Manor.

Mr. Collins was a salesman for Frito Lay. He was also a member o Elliott Church of Christ.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Garner-Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Dan Beardain and Steve Hentz officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.

Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his father, E.B. Collins.

He is survived by a son, Wesley Alan Collins of Duck Hill; a daughter, Linda Gail Smith of Batesville; his mother, Bessie Jewell Collins of Grenada; and a grandson, Chandler Smith of Batesville.

Garner-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mildred F. Rinehart

BATESVILLE – Mildred Ford West Rinehart, 73, of Water Valley, died Monday at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Mrs. Rinehart was a homemaker. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.

The funeral was at 2:30 p.m. today at Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church in Batesville with the Revs. Al Mullins and Wes Sherman officiating. Burial was in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery.

Mrs. Rinehart is survived by her husband, Raymond C. Rinehart of Water Valley; a son, Frank West of Batesville; two daughters, Doris Pugh Riley of Batesville and Diane West Brotherton of Nesbit; two stepdaughters, Mary J. Smith of Hamblin, N.Y. and Elaine R. Thomas of Jacksonville, Ark.; four brothers, Gerald B. Ford, Irby Ford, both of Hernando, James L. Ford of Water Valley and Kenneth Ford of Ackerman; four sisters, Katherine F. Wood, Juanita F. Busby, both of Ackerman, Lucy F. Stokes of Eugene, Ore. and Lois F. Rayford of Olive Branch; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Wells Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Velma E. Wood

WINONA – Velma Elaine Wood, 96, died Monday at Kilmichael Hospital.

Mrs. Wood was a homemaker. She was also a charter member and oldest member of Tri-County Baptist Church in Stewart.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. today at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church near Eupora. Burial was in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

Mrs. Wood was the widow of Jep Wood.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Wood of Rapid City, S.D., Tommy Wood of Carthage and Larry Wood of Stewart; three daughters, Meredith Box of Winona, Martha Tolbert of Memphis, Tenn. and Mary McDonald of Southaven; a sister, Esther Campbell o Panama City, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Lee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
