Wallie R. Carpenter
WINONA – Wallie Reid Carpenter, 77, of McCarley, died Wednesday at his residence.
Mr. Carpenter was a retired logging contractor. He was a member of McCarley Methodist Church..
The funeral was at 11 a.m. today at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in McCarley Cemetery.
Mr. Carpenter was the widower of Bertine Carpenter.
He is survived by two sons, Wallie Reid Carpenter Jr. of Birmingham, Ala. and Michael J. Carpenter of McCarley; a daughter, Debbie Blaylock of McCarley; two sisters, Katherine Thomas of California and Jewel Donovan of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial may be sent to McCarley Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 667, McCarley, Miss. 38943.
Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth B. Winters
Kenneth Bernard ‘Kenny’ Winters, 40, of Grenada, died Wednesday at University Hospital in Jackson.
Mr. Winters was a member of Second New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Grenada High School.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. K.C. Body officiating. Burial will be in Haven Rest Cemetery.
Mr. Winters was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Winters.
He is survived by three sons, Anthony Craig of Sacramento, Calif., Kendrick Winters of Pasadena, Calif. and Jermaine Perry of Grenada; three daughters, LaQuitta Craig, LaQundra Monique Harper and ShaQuitta Thompson, all of Grenada; his mother, Nancy Winters of Grenada; two brothers, Frank Winters of Huntsville, Ala. and Mark Winters of Atlanta, Ga.; and three sisters, Rita Wheelright of El Paso, Texas, Tarra Winters of Atlanta, Ga. and Jennifer Winters Ware of Chicago, Ill.
Clark Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
