Ryan A. Brown
WINONA – Ryan Alan Brown, 34, of Folly Beach, S.C., formerly of Winona and Stewart, died Monday at his residence.
Mr. Brown was an employee o Carolina’s Restaurant and Blind Tiger pub. He was a graduate of Winona Academy, attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and was attending Charleston College in Charleston, S.C.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Moore Memorial Methodist Church with the Revs. Randy Owen and A.G. Clark. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown is survived by his parents, Terry and Joan Brown of Winona; three brothers, William Terry Brown of Lexington, James Stennis Brown of Santa Cruz, Bolivia and Patrick Scott Brown of Oxford; and a sister, Anita Ann Brown of Gulfport.
Pallbearers are Chico Harris, Mark McLarty, Hamp Hughes, Jerry Flowers, James Richardson, Dave Ross, Dennis Ward and Russell French.

Patricia C. Ragland
AUSTIN, Texas – Patricia Coats Ragland, 61, formerly of New Orleans, La. and Mandeville, La., a native of Hardy, died Monday in Texas.
Mrs. Ragland graduated high school in New Orleans and college at South East Louisiana University in Hammond, La. She did post-graduate study at Memphis State University and was a member of University Baptist Church.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the University Baptist Church in Austin, Texas with Dr. Larry Bethune officiating.
Mrs. Ragland was preceded in death by her parents, Barclay and Temple Coats.
She is survived by her husband, James Madison Ragland of Austin, Texas; and two sons, James Barclay Ragland of Mandeville, La. and Madison A. Ragland of Portland, Ore.

CALHOUN CITY – Lillian Reeder, 90, of Pittsboro, died Monday at her residence.
Mrs. Reeder was a homemaker. She was also a Baptist.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Vardaman with the Rev. Jim Vance officiating.
Mrs. Reeder was preceded in death by her husband, George Reeder; a daughter, Wanda Sue Petty; a son, Billy Z. Reeder; and her parents, Guy Bryant and Ora Hastings Bryant.
She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Bryant of Oakland; a sister, Emma E. Steele Hyde of Memphis, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Monroe R. Whitehead
MALVERN, Ark. – Monroe Ray Whitehead, 66, a native of Prichett, Texas, died Monday at Hot Spring County Medical Center.
Mr. Whitehead was a retired manager of American Buyers. He was also a minister for almost 50 years and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Whitehead was a member o OSI, and a water safety instructor.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Regency Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Bayou Cemetery.
Visitation will be today at the funeral home.
Mr. Whitehead was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Gurtha Ray Lockart Whitehead.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Whitehead of Malvern, Ark.; five sons, Mark Whitehead o Carthage, Texas, Stephen Whitehead of Sterling, Va., Clifford Scott Whitehead of Bryan, Texas, Kyle Porterfield of Malvern, Ark. and Larry Porterfield of Greenbrier, Ark.; a daughter, Debbie Jacobs of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Cliff Whitehead of Tucson, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren.
