Paul L. Ellis
CALHOUN CITY – Paul Loundy Ellis, 82, died Tuesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Ellis was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church and a World War II Army veteran.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dale Easley and Pete Gregory officiating. Burial will be in New Liberty Cemetery in Vardaman.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Ramage Ellis; his parents, Guy Z. Ellis and Martha Harris Ellis; two brothers, Melvin Ellis and Bill Ellis; and three sisters, Christine Terry, Ollie Reese and Virginia Clark.
He is survived by a son, Jimmy Ellis of Vardaman; a daughter, Mae Edmondson of Vardaman; two sisters, Louise Eisenburg and Margie Parker, both of Vardaman; four grandchildren, Paul Edmondson, John Scott Edmondson, Genia Ruth and Holli Card; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Paul Edmondson, John Edmondson, Ricky Card, Jerry Clark, Carlos Parker, Gene Ruth, Larry Long, and Tyler Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Hood, Lewis Bailey, Stuart Yarbrough, Leon Murphree, Bryan Allen Long, Jerry Long, Malvin Crew, Wallace Kirby, Preston Tallent and Alfred Spratlin.
Pryor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Elvie C. Montgomery
WINONA – Elvie Campbell Montgomery, 91, of Kilmichael, died Monday at Kilmichael Hospital.
Mrs. Montgomery was a retired registered nurse for Kilmichael Hospital. She was a member of Kilmichael Hospital.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. today at Kilmichael Baptist Church with the Revs. Joe Crout, David Bishops and Susie Jones officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.
Mrs. Montgomery was the widow of James Ford Montgomery.
She is survived by three daughters, Faye M. Pearson of Kilmichael, Joyce M. Miller of Hendersonville, Tenn. and Jamie Cummins of Grenada; a brother, Charles Campbell of Carrollton; two sisters, Rose Davidson of Greenville and Beth Laney of Kilmichael; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
