VICKSBURG – Ann Greer, 56, of Vicksburg died Thursday, November 23 at Vicksburg Medical Center.
Ms Greer was a budget department employee at the Vicksburg District of the U.S. Corps of Engineers. Born in Yalobusha County, she has been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 50 years, where she was a member of Immanueal Baptist Church
Funeral services were held this morning at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg with burial in Green Acres Memorial Park and Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating.
Survivors include her two sons, Jamie Greer of Madison, Brady Greer of Vicksburg, her daughter, Angela Stewart of Vicksburg; her father, W.E. Pharr of Vicksburg, five sisters, Nancy Pritchard of Vicksburg, Martha Pharr of Vicksburg, Linda Chappell of Sarasota, Florida; Kathy Knighton of Vicksburg; Wanda Cook of Alexandria, Virginia; three grandchildren; and an aunt, Mrs. Nick Bennett of Grenada.
Mildred Nabors Pilgreen
CALHOUN CITY – Mildred Nabors Pilgreen, 88, of Pittsboro, died Friday, November 24 at Hillcrest Hospital.
Mrs. Pilgreen was a member of Pittsboro Baptist Church a former employee of the Calhoun County Welfare Department, a former city clerk, and an avid gardener.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 25 at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pittsboro Cemetery and Rev. Buford Usry officiating.
Mrs. Pilgreen is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Pilgreen and is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends, George and Charlsey Nix, Jeff and Tammy Nix, and Chipper Glen Nix.
Jackie Ray Presley Sr.
BYHALIA – Jackie Ray Presley Sr., 59, of Byhalia, died Saturday, November 25 at Baptist Memorial Hospital -Desoto, in Southaven.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope.
Mr. Presley was an insulator.
He is survived by three daughters, Melinda Presley Ross of Pope, Pamela Presley Cousar of New Albany, Lisa Presley Heafner of Batesville; a son, Jackie Ray Presley Jr. of Memphis; a sister, Ellen P. Bell of Byhalia, two brothers, Robert Presley of Byhalia, Sammy Presley of Memphis; and eight grandchildren.
Lillian Geneva Sayles
BATESVILLE – Lillian Geneva Sayles, 67, of Batesville, died Saturday, November 25 at South Panola Community Hospital in Batesville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville; Rev. Michael Duton and Rev. Damon Plummer officiating.
Mrs. Sayles was a seamstress and a member of the Pentecostal church.
She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Ann File, of Foley, Ala., Vicki Kay Holley of Batesville; two sons, Jimmy Ray Sayles of Pope, Everett Charles Sayles of Locke Station; three sisters, Collis Evans of Turrell, Ala., Dorothy Coker of Turrell, Ala., Mary Austin of Hillville, Tenn., four brothers, Bobby Benard of Covington, Tenn., James Benard , Joe Benard, both of Jackson, Tenn.; William Benard of Brownsville, Tenn., six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Wells Funeral Home in Batesville is in charge of arrangements.
Doris M. Watson Trapp
JACKSON – Doris M. Watson Trapp, 86, died Thursday, November 23 at Inglewood Nursing Home in Jackson.
Mrs. Trapp was a self-employed businesswoman and a member of Bolton Methodist Church.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.
She is survived by a son, Gary Tilghman of Bolton, a sister, Kathleen Pope of Americus, Georgia; a brother, John R. Watson of Greenwood, and a grandson, Bryan Tilghman of Fort Collins, Colorado.
National Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
