Bernise G. Harbin

HOLCOMB – Bernise G. Harbin, age 89, died Monday, July 19 at her residence.

Mrs. Harbin was a housewife and a member of Airport Baptist Church.

Services will be held Thursday, July 20 at 10a.m. at National Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Clarence Cooper and Bro. Norris Corley officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 19 from 5 – 8.

Mrs. Harbin was preceded in death by her husband – W.A. Harbin, Sr. She is survived by two sons – W.A. “Joe” Harbin, Jr. and Jimmy Paul Harbin, Sr. of Greenville; five sisters – Alma Morgan, Nellie Morgan, Jane Ezell all of Elliott, Demple Tharpe of Gore Springs, and Kate Newman of Southaven; two brothers – Billy Gant of Gore Springs and Gene “Bud” Gant; 5 Grandchildren – Brent Harbin, Randy Harbin, Kay Worsham all of Grenada, Gale Lovell of Holcomb, and Jimmy P Harbin of Greenville; and 5 great-grandchildren.

National Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice Care Foundation Patient Care Fund, PO Box 1264, Cleveland, MS 38732 and Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, Grenada, MS.

Charles Miller

COFFEEVILLE – Charles Miller, age 42, died Thursday, July 18 at Grenada Lake Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. Eddie Robinson & Son Funeral Directors are in charge of the arrangements.

Hazel Jefcoat Mortimer

WINONA – Hazel Jefcoat Mortimer, age 81, died Tuesday, July 18 at Winona Manor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Mortimer was a homemaker and a former member of American Legion Auxiliary. She was the director of the nursery at First Baptist Church for 40 years.

Services will be held Thursday, July 20 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Winona with Rev. Jimmy Harrington officiating and Rev. T. R. Darsey assisting.

Mrs. Mortimer was preceded in death by her husband – John B. Mortimer. She is survived by two daughters – Peggy M. Ramsey of Winona and Martha Lee of Hattiesburg; a son-in-law – Terry Lee of Hattiesburg; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Lee Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Patsy Reed

Patsy Reed, age 91, died Thursday, July 13 at Grenada Lake Medical Center.

Ms. Reed was a homemaker.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21 at 2 p.m. at Pine Hill M.B. Church with Rev. Nick Reed officiating. Burial will be in Haven Rest Cemetery.

Cora Russell

CALHOUN CITY – Cora Russell, age 84, died Wednesday, July 19 at her residence.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. Eddie Robinson & Son Funeral Directors are in charge of the arrangements.

Robert E. Woods

Robert E. “Bob” Woods, age 95, of Grenada, died Sunday, July 16, at Grenada Health and Rehabilitation Center in Grenada.

Mr. Woods was a retired farmer and truck driver. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada. He was preceded in death by his wife, the Late Lura Woods.

Mr. Woods is survived by 3 sons, Billy Woods, Joe Woods, and Larry Woods all of Grenada; 2 brothers, Henry Woods of Grenada, James Woods of Duck Hill, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held Tuesday, July 18, at 10 a.m. at National Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Clarence Cooper officiating.

Burial was in Red Hill Cemetery near Duck Hill.

National Funeral Home of Grenada was in charge of arrangements.
