Rocky L. Burns
POPE – Rocky Lewis Burns, age 46, died Sunday, July 16, at the Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
Mr. Burns was a self-employed carpenter. He was born January 4, 1954 to Haywood Clarence and Margaret Ann Fowler Burns.
Mr. Burns is survived by his wife, Bonita Duncan Burns of Pope; 3 daughters, Margie Burns Crosby of Courtland, Shannon Burns and Melanie Burns both of Pope; His mother, Margaret Ann Fowler Burns of Courtland; 6 sisters, Yvonne Burns Odom of Batesville, Peggy Burns Melton of Courtland, Bernice Burns Martin of Sardis, Lona Burns Porter of Coldwater, Brenda Burns Cagle of West Memphis, TN. and Linda Burns Patton of Sarah, TN.; 3 brothers, Wayne Burns and Roy Burns of Courtland and Gary Burns of Memphis, TN.; and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held today at 4:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with the Rev. Frank Camp officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville.

Lena S. Harvey
WINONA – Lena Pearl Stewart Harvey, age 93, died Thursday, July 13, at Appling Wood Nursing Home in Memphis.
Ms. Harvey was a homemaker. She was also a member of Raleigh Primitive Baptist Church.
Ms. Harvey is survived by 2 daughters, Ruby Nell Enok of Lakeland, TN., and Mary Sue Hutchinson of Memphis, TN.; 2 sons, C.L. Stewart of Memphis and George Donald Stewart of West, MS.; 1 sister, Ethel Donahoo of Winona; 1 brother, Lee Higginbotham of Memphis; 28 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, July 15, at 2:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona. Burial was held in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona.

Mary L. Hayward
DUCK HILL – Mary Lucille Hayward, age 90, died Friday, July 14, at her residence in Montgomery County.
Ms. Hayward was a homemaker. She was also a graduate of Charleston High School, a graduate of Chillotag Business College, a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Grenada.
Ms. Hayward is survived by her sister, Mrs. Ben Sanders of Grenada.
Funeral Services were held Sunday, July 16, at 2:00 p.m. at Garner-Harper Funeral Home in Grenada. Burial was followed in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada. Memorials may be made to French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp, MS 39745, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.

MEMPHIS – Sidney Renfro, age 88, died Saturday, July 15, 2000 at his residence in Memphis.
Mr. Renfro was retired form Ford Motor Company and a charter member of Enid Lake Baptist Church.
Mr. Renfro is survived by his wife, Frances Renfro of Memphis; 3 daughters, Sheila Potts and Kay West of Memphis, and Brenda Roberts of Bartlett; 2 sons, John Renfro of Gore Springs and Mike Renfro of Nesbit, MS.; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2000 at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home Chapel of Memphis. Burial will be held in Forest Hill South Cemetery in Memphis.

James H. Sellers
SARDIS – James H. “Pete” Sellers, age 62, died Thursday, July 13, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis.
Mr. Sellers was a Toro maintenance manager in Sardis for 46 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sardis.
Mr. Sellers is survived by his wife, Bea Harlow Sellers of Sardis; 2 sons, Ronnie Sellers of Senatobia and Todd Sellers of Pontotoc; 2 Step-Daughters, Sherry Pilkinton and Belinda Hobbs both of Memphis; 4 sisters, Dorothy S. Jones of Pleasant Grove, Gloria S. Woodard and Earleen Bowden both of Horn Lake and Clair S. Hooper of Germantown; 1 brother, Clyde Sellers of Crenshaw, MS.; 3 grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, July 15, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Sardis with the Rev. Rickey Haynes and Rev. Jerry Stafford officiating. Burial was followed in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, MS.

Ethel Thomas, 93, of Grenada died Sunday, July 16 at Grenada Health and Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Thomas was a housewife and an Avon representative. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 18 at 2 p.m. at National Funeral Home with burial in Smith Cemetery at Rosebloom.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. tonight at National Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Vance, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

BRUCE – Elder Ben Williams, age 86, died Saturday, July 15, at the Baptist Memorial in Oxford.

Robert E. Woods
Robert E. “Bob” Woods, age 95, of Grenada, died Sunday, July 16, 2000 at Grenada Health and Rehabilitation Center in Grenada.
Mr. Woods was a retired farmer and truck driver. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada. He was preceded in death by his wife, the Late Lura Woods.
Mr. Woods is survived by 3 sons, Billy Woods, Joe Woods, and Larry Woods all of Grenada; 2 brothers, Henry Woods of Grenada and James Woods of Duck Hill.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. at National Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Clarence Cooper officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 – 8 p.m. at National Funeral Home. Burial will be held in Red Hill Cemetery near Duck Hill.
