Frances Fielder Lavender
CHARLESTON – Frances Fielder Lavender, age 85, died Tuesday, July 4 at Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi in Oxford.
Mrs. Lavender was a retired florist, a member of Charleston First Baptist Church, a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, and Salutatorian of her high school class.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 6 at 3 p.m. at Charleston First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Charleston Cemetery.
Mrs. Lavender was preceded in death by her husband – James Morris Lavender, Sr. She is survived by a daughter – Marilyn L. Cook of Jacksonville, Fla., two sons – James M. Lavender, Jr. of Collierville, Tenn., and David P. Lavender of Charleston; one sister – Virginia Fielder Bowen of Grenada; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Robert Wayne Legge
BATESVILLE – Robert Wayne Legge, age 87, died Monday, July 3 at V.A. Medical Center in Jackson.
Mr. Legge was a retired U. S. Air Force Tec Sergeant and a U.S. Army POW in WWII for nine months. He was a member of Central Academy Church of Christ. Visitation will be Thursday, July 6 from 5 – 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 7 at 2p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with Mr. Hal Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery in Sardis.
Mr. Legge is survived by his wife – Mattie Wood Legge of Batesville; a daughter – Rosa Jean Legge Cauthen of Sardis; two sons – Bob Legge of Batesville and Jerry Legge of Tupelo; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Martha Pinkston Milner
VAIDEN – Martha Pinkston Milner, age 70, died Tuesday, July 4 at Grenada Lake Medical Center.
Mrs. Milner was a physician’s assistant at Vaiden Medical Clinic and a member of Vaiden Baptist Church where she served as church treasurer.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 7 at 3 p.m. at Vaiden Baptist Church. Burial will be in Vaiden Cemetery.
Mrs. Milner is survived by her husband – Henry S. Milner of Vaiden; a daughter – Dianne Milner Barnett of Jackson; a sister – Sara Pinkston Williams of Chickasaw, AL; a brother – James Pinkston of Birmingham, AL; and a grandson – Stephen Davaine Barnett of Jackson.

Loran Russell Dogan
A memorial graveside service for Loran Russell Dogan, 73, of Praireville, La. will be held Saturday, July 8 at 2 p.m. at Scobey Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Briscoe officiating.
Mr. Dogan was retired from Kaiser Aluminum. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loran Dogan and Lottie Briscoe Dogan.
He is survived by his wife, Darla Woods Dogan, three daughters, Lauren Wilt of New Orleans, La., Carolyn Sue Ryan of Jackson; Mary Lynn Burris of Baton Rouge, La.; two sons, James Dogan and David Dogan of New Orleans, La.
