Virnelle Carlisle Mosley Chambers
BATESVILLE – Virnelle Carlisle Mosley Chambers, age 55, of Sardis, died Thursday, June 21, 2000 in Oxford.
Mrs. Chambers was a homemaker and member of Truslow United Methodist Church, in Sarah.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 24 at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville.
Mrs. Chambers is survived by her husband, William B. Chambers, two daughters Sissi Mosley LeDoux of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Angel Mosley Sing of Independence, one son, William Brooks Mosley of Longbeach, two sisters, Shirley Carlisle Dover of Sardis, Doris Carlisle Carpenter of Tunica, and Eleven Grandchildren.

Randall Turner Chaffin
Randall Turner Chaffin, age 81, died Saturday, June 24 at Tallahatchie Extended Care Facility.
Mr. Chaffin was a retired mechanic for Kroger Grocery Company and a member of Paynes Baptist Church. Chaffin was a World War II Army veteran, Mason.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 28. at Womble Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. with burial in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Chaffin is survived by his wife Katherine Henson Chaffin, three daughters, Mary Elaine Lewis of San Jose, California, Janie Faye Hester of Franklin, Tenn., Joyce Palmer of Manassas, Va., three sons Dwight Turner Chaffin of Littleton, Colorado; David Eugene Chaffin of Englewood, Ohio; and Roy Daniel Chaffin of Southaven; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to Paynes Baptist Church, Rt. 1, Box 163B, Cascilla, MS 38920.

James L. Benning
WINONA – James L. Benning, age 68 died at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Mr. Benning was self employed as an electrician and member of Kilmichael Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 26 at Kilmichael Baptist Church, at 2 p.m.
Mr. Benning is survived by his wife Kathleen Wood of Kilmichael, two daughters Tressy Denley of Coffeeville, Cherre Fillyaw of Tillatoba, one stepdaughter, Kathy Cascio of St. Marys, Ga., two step sons, Ron Wood of Kilmichael, Ryan Wood of Kilmichael, two sisters Nan Gordon of Grenada, Sue Thompson of Nesbit, and eight grandchildren.

Jarius M. Armstrong
CALHOUN CITY – Jarius M. Armstrong, age 5 died Thursday, June 22, in Calhoun City from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Armstrong was a member of the Blue Jays Baseball Team.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 25, at Friendship M.B. Church, of Calhoun City, at 11 a.m.

Betty Mable Goodson
PITTSBORO, MS – Betty Mable Goodson, age 91 died Friday, June 23 at Aliceville Manor, Aliceville, AL.
Mrs. Goodson was a homemaker and a member of Pittsboro Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 26, at 2 p.m. at Pittsboro Baptist Church with burial in Pincrest Memorial Gardens.
Goodson was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Ross Goodson, and her parents, L. J. Aston and Mattie Hannaford Aston. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Jean McKinstry of Aliceville, Ala., Charleye Ann Weeks of Pittsboro; two sisters, Ava Reeves of Calhoun City, Lois Wright of Tupelo; three brothers, John Aston of Grenada, J. R. Aston of Salem, OR, Dan Aston of Louisville; and four grandchildren
