Visitors to the Old River Run Trail can now view the names of the majestic trees and other flora that shade their walk.
Plaques have been put in place identifying the cypresses, live oaks and dozens of other plants that line the sides of the trail at Grenada Lake.
“The Army Corp of Engineers came with us last spring and walked the trail, and forester Shelby Staten went through and identified the trees,” said Margaret McCool, a member of the Grenada Garden Club, which paid for the plaques and sponsored the undertaking.
