Powell Corder
   Funeral services for  Powell “Doc” Corder, 75, of Duck Hill, were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery in Carroll County.
   Visitation was Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at National Funeral Home.
   Powell died Nov. 14, 2012, at his home in Duck Hill.
   He was born on Oct. 24, 1937, and was the son of Walter E. Corder and Annie Crawford Corder of Carroll County.
   Powell was employed as a truck driver for many years. He was a Baptist.
   Powell is survived by his wife, Barbara Vance Corder of Duck Hill; one brother, Lester Franklin Corder of Pascagoula; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Bro. Tim Lane officiated the services with Travis Wiggins, Aubrey Wiggins, Paul Wiggins, D.J. Wiggins, Andy Lane, James Corder, and Jim Phelps serving as pallbearers.
   National Funeral Home was in charge.

Billy Dean McCullar

   A graveside services for Billy Dean McCullar, 59, of Courtland, was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in Camp Ground Cemetery in Lafayette County.
   Mr. McCullar died Nov. 10, 2012, in Lafayette County.  
   He was born in Yalobusha County in 1953 to  Shirley Reaves and Sylvia Langham McCullar .
   Mr. McCullar served in the U. S. Army. Upon discharge he returned to Water Valley where he worked at Borg Warner. Fishing was his favorite pastime, and he enjoyed riding four-wheelers.  
   He was preceded in death by his father, Shirley McCullar and a twin brother, Bobby McCullar.
   Surviving Mr. McCullar are his daughter, Lacy M. Sarwat of Collierville, Tenn.; his mother, Sylvia McCullar of Water Valley, four sisters, Jo-ann Vandergriff of Carlsbad, N.M., Gail Fly and Patricia Sims of Water Valley, and Diane Cadena of Batesville; and two grandchildren.

Travis Lee Sanders
   Travis Lee Sanders, 64, of Troy, Ala., formerly of Destin, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at his home in Troy.
   Funeral services for Travis were at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 18, at Green Hills Funeral Home in Troy, with the Rev. Rick Hayes officiating.
   Visitation was held Saturday, Nov. 17, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. The family received friends from noon until service time on Sunday. Burial followed in Green Hills Memorial Cemetery in Troy with Green Hills Funeral Home directing.
   Travis was born in Albertville Ala., and raised in McComb, Miss. He was the founder and president of Surge Suppression Incorporated, a worldwide company headquartered in Destin  and a loving father of two.
   Travis had an extremely nurturing and giving spirit and was an avid lover of animals, deep sea fishing and cruising on his boat in the Caribbean Islands. He had an ever-growing love for his new home in Troy and will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.
   Travis was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Sanders and Sarah Odell Haley. He is survived by his fiancée, Robin Eubanks; one daughter, Sarah Nicole Sanders; one son, Tristan Lee Sanders; one brother, Ricky Sanders; and many other lifelong friends.

Billy Jack Welch
   A memorial service for Billy Jack Welch, 50, of Water Valley, was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in the fellowship hall of Water Valley Church of Christ.
   Mr. Welch died Nov. 14, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
   He was born Dec. 4, 1961, in Water Valley to  Jack and Patricia Moore Welch.  
   Mr. Welch was a member of the Weasel Motorcycle Club and the Water Valley Church of Christ. He worked in Waste Water Management for Crown, Cork and Seal.
   In addition to his parents, surviving Mr. Welch are his wife, Anita Parker Welch of Water Valley; a son, Dustin Welch of Kouts, Ind.; two step-sons, Eric Schmitz and Andy Hood of Water Valley; two brothers, Scott Welch of Pontotoc and Jeff Welch of Water Valley; two grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

James Wilson Jr.
   Funeral services for James Wilson Jr., 65, of Grenada, native of Marks, are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Way of Life Ministries. Burial will follow in Haven Rest Cemetery.
   Mr. Wilson died Nov. 15, 2012, at his home of sudden cardiac arrest.
   He was born on Aug. 30, 1947, and was the son of the late James Wilson Sr. and Idella Stephenson-Wilson.
   Mr. Wilson was a member of Way of Life Ministries and enjoy painting and gardening.
   Surviving Mr. Wilson are his wife, Gloria G. Wilson of Grenada; daughter, Jasmine O. Wilson of Grenada; son Jermaine T. Wilson of Grenada; three sisters, Ethel Lee Scott, Hattie Mae Wilson and Lynell Steele; three brothers, Sam Scott, Criss Scott and Archie Scott.
   Clark-Williams Funeral Home is in charge.
