The Grenada County School Board appointed a new member and heard presentations from principals about test scores at its monthly meeting Tuesday. Marjorie Hughes, the wife of recently deceased board member James Hughes, was sworn in to take her late husband’s spot as the
representative from District Four.
“We would love it if you would continue James’s 23-year legacy on the board,” said Superintendent Dr. David Daigneault, adding that he hoped Hughes would consider running for
the seat in the March election.
The school board has the authority, Daigneault said earlier, to appoint someone to fill Hughes’s spot until the election.
