Grenada County Fire Coordinator Mickey Trussell advised the Board of Supervisors Thursday that the county needs to get in applications if it wants state money to use toward the purchase of new firetrucks.
The county needs to get in applications, Trussell said, if it wants to take advantage of the Rural Firetruck Acquisition Assistance Program.
The state program will pay up to $70,000 toward the purchase of a new truck for rural departments. The departments are responsible for the remainder.
