Sandra Gail Anthony
   Funeral services for Sandra Gail Anthony, 62, of Batesville, were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope.
   Mrs. Anthony died Dec. 3 2012, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville.
   She was born in Chicago, Ill., on Aug. 17, 1950, and was the daughter of George Raymond & Martha Virginia Roberts Bynum.
   Mrs. Anthony was a retired cosmetologist and  a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville.
   In addition to her parents, preceding Mrs. Anthony in death is a brother, Daniel Edward Bynum.
   Surviving Mrs. Anthony are her husband, Jimmy D. Anthony Sr.; daughter, Tammy Anthony Cowsert of Pope; son, Jimmy D. Anthony Jr. of Pope; three brothers, Donald Bynum of Water Valley, Larry Bynum of Chicago, Ill., and Ronald Terry Bynum of Senatobia; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
   Wells Funeral Home was in charge.

Willie Louise Davis Collins
   Funeral services for Willie Louise Davis Collins, 86, of Grenada, are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Greater Faith M.B. Church. Burial will follow in Haven Rest Cemetery.
   Visitation is Friday from1 to 6 p.m. at Eddie Robinson Funeral Home.
   Mrs. Collins died Dec. 2, 2012.
   She was born on Dec. 16, 1925, and was the daughter of the late John Davis and Florence Rhodes Davis Reynolds.
   Mrs. Collins was a housewife who did a heroic job raising eight children and two grandson with firm hands and a tender spirit. She had a passion for flowers and her yard and home was often admired by others.
   In addition to her parents, preceding Mrs. Collins in death are her daughter, Jessie Lee Collins; three sisters, Bernice Stennett, Lillian Hudgins and Elizabeth Morris; a brother, Ulysses, “Pocpcorn” Davis Sr.; two grandsons, Jeffery Keith Collins and Michael Andrew Collins.
   Surviving Mrs. Collins are six daughters, Cynthia Collins and Bettye Chamberlain of Grenada, Mary Louise Nolan, Willie Scott Bulter and Annie Marie Collins, all of Chicago, Ill., and Doris Conley of Pomona, Calif.; two sons, Ted A. Collins of Chino, Calif., and Andrew Collins of Jackson, Miss.; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and her aunt, Ethel Rhodes of Grenada.
   Eddie Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Sam Durham
   Funeral services for Sam Durham, 65, of Coffeeville, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.
   Visitation was Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. at National Funeral Home.
   Mr. Durham died Dec. 3, 2012, at his home.
   Sam was born on Dec. 24, 1946, and was the son of Edgar Franklin Durham and Dovie Yarbrough Durham of Holcomb.
   He was employed by Heatcraft as a plumber. Sam was a Baptist and enjoyed fishing.
   Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Dovie Durham and by two sisters, Sue D. Williams and Willa Dean White.
   Mr. Durham is survived by three daughters, Melissa Vaughn of Duck Hill, Samantha Graves of Houlka and Trisha Dunn of Duck Hill; two sons, Scott McNabb of Grenada and Shawn McNabb of Duck Hill; five sisters, Shirley Ledford of Grandbury, Texas, Margie Mason of Charleston, Miss., Edna Lee of Grenada, Barbara Pickle of Grenada, and Joy Durham of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Jim Franklin Durham of Jackson, Miss., and Billy W. Durham of Bruce; eight grandchildren, Lillie Graves, Hunter Graves, Stephen McNabb, Krista McNabb, Felisha McNabb, Cameron Dunn, Robbie Dunn, and Jacob McNabb; and two great-grandchildren.
   National Funeral Home was in charge.

Johnathon Dewayne Holland
   Funeral services for Johnathon “Jade” Dewayne Holland, 20, of Water Valley, are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Seven Oaks Funeral Home.
   Visitation is Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
   Mr. Holland died Dec. 2, 2012, from injuries in an automobile accident.
   He was born on July 28, 1992, in Oxford to Jimmie Holland of Water Valley.  
   Mr. Holland was a mechanic and enjoyed working on things.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles and anything “John Deere.  
   Preceding Mr. Holland in death are his niece, Averiee Burnett and his cousin, Kristofer Riddell.
   In addition to his mother, surviving Mr. Holland are two sisters, Tuesday Holland Bishop of Water Valley and Jewel Burnett of Brookhaven; his grandparents, Carol Holland and John Holland  of Water Valley.

David Aston Holley
   Funeral services for David Aston Holley, 89, of Oxford are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Waller Funeral Home.
   Visitation is Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
   Mr. Holley died Dec. 5, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford.   
   Mr. Holley, an Oxford native and one of the South Street Gang, graduated from Oxford University High School and the University of Mississippi.  At Ole Miss he received a degree in Pharmacy and was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon. After serving in WWII as a first lieutenant in the Army Air Force North African Transport Command and in the Korean Conflict, he returned to Oxford to eventually become the owner of Holley’s Gathright-Reed Drug Store. He served on the Advisory Board of First National Bank and often was a participant in the Faulkner Conference at Ole Miss. He was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church where he was involved in several Honduran Medical Missions and a former vestry person.  
   Surviving Mr. Holley are his his wife, Allane Teague Holley of Oxford; two daughters, Mary-Guyton Holley Runnels of Kansas City, Mo., and Sarah Teague Holley Pack of Overland Park, Kan.; and five grandchildren.
   Memorials may be made to a library of the donor’s choice.

Judith Hope Howard
   Funeral services for Judith Hope Howard, 50, of Batesville, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetry.
   Ms. Howard died Dec. 3, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital -Desoto in Southaven.
   She was born on July 17, 1962, in New Orleans, and was the daughter of Hubert W. Burns and Maxine L. Ainsworth Burns.
   Ms. Howard was a Baptist and a homemaker.
   Preceding Mrs. Howard in death are her dad, Robert Perkins and a sister, Marilyn Clark.
   Surviving Ms. Howard are her daughter, Kyra Bell Tyson of Batesville; her mother, Maxine L. Perkins of Oakland; father, Hubert W. Burns of Bassfield, Miss.; three sisters, Gwendolyn McMahon of Slidell, La., Rosanna Moore of Horn Lake and Janice Tramel of Oakland, Miss.; two grandchildren.

Charlotte Sheffield Loden
   A graveside service for Charlotte Sheffield Loden, 93, of Winona, was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, in Dorsey Memorial Cemetery in Itawamba County.
   Mrs. Loden died Dec. 2, 2012, at Country Meadows Personal Care Home near Greenwood.
   She was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Ark Martin Sheffield.
   Mrs. Loden was born on Oct. 13, 1919.
   She was a retired employee of the State of Mississippi and a member of First Baptist Church in Winona. Mrs. Loden also enjoyed playing bridge.
   In addition to her parents, preceding Mrs. Loden in death are her husband, William Landon Loden and nine brothers and sisters.
   Survivors include two sons, Larry Loden of Mountain Home, Ark., and Steve Loden of Winona; brother, Joe Sheffield of Fulton; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Florence C. Pigg
   Florence C. Pigg, 87, died peacefully in her daughter’s home on Monday Dec. 3, 2012.
   She was born in Louisville Feb. 2, 1925, to the late Charles Lee and Tennie Reed Lishman and she made her home in Greenwood for many years. She retired from Irvin Industries and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
   Preceded in death by her husband, Bennie H. Pigg; three sons, Harold H. Pigg Sr., Edward Pigg and Ronald Pigg; brother, Tommie Lee Lishman; four sisters, Ola B. Pruett, Allie V. Smith, Murl Turley, and twin sister Addie T. Hobson.
   Visitation was from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral services followed at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with Bro. Bennie Rigby officiating.
   Pallbearers were Harold H. Pigg Jr., Terry A. Pigg, Bennie L. Pigg, Chip Rogers, Edward L. McNeer, and Carl Daves. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood.
   She is survived by her daughter, Marie Pigg McNeer of Carrollton; four grandchildren, Cheryl McNeer (Chip) Rogers of Winona, Edward L. (Dawn) McNeer of Brandon, Harold H. (Sandy) Pigg Jr. of Holcomb, and Terry A. Pigg and girlfriend Myra Chambley of Holcomb; special caregiver, Marilyn Hale; nine great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Kristofer Aurther Riddell
   Funeral services for Kristofer Aurther Riddell, 14, of Water Valley are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Seven Oaks Funeral Home.
   Visitation is Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
   Kristofer died Dec. 2, 2012, from injuries in an automobile accident.
   He was born on Sept. 18,1998, in Grenada, to Bobby and Bernadette Riddell.  
   Kristofer loved to skateboard, ride four-wheelers, mud ride and hang out with his family and friends.
   He is preceded in death by his cousin, Johnathon “Jade” Holland.
   Surviving Kristofer are his mother, Bernadette Riddell of Water Valley; father, Bobby Riddell of Clarksdale; sister, Shona Holland of Water Valley; brother, Joshua Dyer of Water Valley; his maternal grandparents, Carol Holland and John Holland of Water Valley; his paternal grandparents, Bobby and Mary Riddell of Clarksdale; three aunts, Jimmie Holland of Water Valley, Angelena Tidwell of Oxford and Pattee Miceli of Walnut Grove, Miss.

Robert Gary Sykes
   Robert Gary “Rollo” Sykes, 56, of Grenada, died Dec. 6, 2012.
   He was born on Oct. 23, 1956, in Grenada to William Robert and Claudine McMahan Sykes. He was a friend to many and a hard worker.
   He was preceded in death by his parents.
   He is survived by his son, Chris Sykes; a daughter, Rebecca Lucius; two brothers, Steve Sykes and Ronnie Sykes; and one sister, Teresa Moore; three grandchildren, Audrey Anna Sykes, William Robert Sykes and Brooklyn Elizabeth Sykes, all of Grenada; one niece and seven nephews.
   A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
