The State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) coordinator and volunteers will be in Grenada on Thursday, Nov. 15, at Lewis Johnson Senior Citizens Complex to assist with open enrollment, according to Aging Mississippi SHIP Volunteer, Leoda Topps.
Open enrollment for Medicare began Oct. 15 and will run through Dec. 7.
The time period allows enough time to review and make changes to Medicare coverage. This time also ensures Medicare has enough time to process the choices made, so coverage can begin without interruption on Jan. 2, 2013, according to Topps.
The SHIP program is administered through North Central Planning & Development District, Area Agency on Aging.
