Since playing for the Class AA State Championship in 2008, the Kirk Academy football program has fallen on hard times.
They are a combined 13-27 including 3-4 this season.
Katlan French has been trying to restore that winning mindset into the program since being hired this summer. He knew it would take some time to build the program back.
“These kids haven’t really experienced a lot of success,” French said. “When things go bad, they lay things down. I knew coming into this job that it was a process. It’s ongoing. We want to change the way that they handle adversity, and work on making them mentally tough.”
