One person was killed and two were injured in a shooting Monday night in central Grenada.
According to Interim Police Chief Russell Carver, Marvis Swims, 32, was critically wounded from a gunshot in a house on the 1100 block of Poplar St., around 10:30 p.m.
Swims was rushed to Grenada Lake Medical Center where he died from his wounds, Carver said.
Police arrested a man Carver identified as Terance Travon House, a.ka. “Tubby,” 23, of Grenada, in connection with the shooting. He was charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault, according to Carver.
“We’re not ruling out robbery as a motive, but the shooting is still under investigation,” said Carver.
Also injured were Somalia Mecole Mosley, age unknown, who was shot above the eye, and Chatezes Spears, age unknown, who was shot in the arm. Mosely was in critical condition at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Carver said. Spears was believed to be in stable condition, also at the Med, according to Carver.
