   The tussle between democracy and socialism may seem to have just emerged within American public life, but according to a Madison author, it’s been going on since the birth of the nation.
   “The danger of socialism isn’t something that appeared with recent, political elections,” said author and historian Tricia Raymond, speaking Friday at the monthly gathering of the Grenada Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
   Raymond drew her presentation from her book, Saving One Nation Under God: The Role of the Pledge of Allegiance in America’s Fight Against Socialism.
