The Grenada City Council began budget work Tuesday and, according to Mayor Billy Collins, projections look promising for the 2012-13 fiscal year.
“If we adopt the budget with which we’ve been presented, 10 months into the fiscal year, without any changes, we’ll have $253,531 in additional revenue for the next fiscal year,” said Collins.
“That could be subtracted from the deficit in the general fund,” he said. Collins earlier told the GrenadaStar that the deficit was around $1 million.
“The city’s budget will be a little over $10 million for the year,” said Collins
