Mary Ann Hughes Bryan
    Funeral services for Mary Ann Hughes Bryan, 82, of Marietta, Ga., formerly of Winona, are at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at First Presbyterian Church of Winona. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
    Mrs. Bryan died Aug. 19, 2012, in Marietta.
    She was born on April 27, 1930, in Shreveport, La., and was the daughter of Howard and Mary Hughes.
    Mrs. Bryan married the late Kennedy Bryan in 1950 and they raised their family in Winona.
    Surviving Mrs. Bryan are her daughter, Margaret Anne Bryan Lassiter of Marietta; son, Larry Hughes Bryan of Memphis; sister, Margaret Bruner of Sugar Land, Texas; and four grandchildren, a niece and a great-niece.

Jettie Beatrice Nolan Delaney

    Funeral services for Jettie Beatrice Nolan “Mrs. B.” Delaney, 89, of Grenada, are at 11 am. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Burning Bush M.B. Church. Burial will follow in Haven Rest Cemetery.
    Visitation is Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Clark-Williams Funeral Home.
    Mrs. Delaney died Aug. 20, 2012, at Grenada Lake Medical Center..
    She was born on April 6, 1923.
    Mrs. Delaney worked for 37 years at KFC and was a member of Greater Powell Chapel A.M.E. Church.
    Surviving Mrs. Delaney are four daughters, Helen Nicholas of Evanston, Ill., Joyce Wilson, Mildred Williams and Barbara Delaney, all of Grenada; three sons, J.D. Delaney Jr. of Oxford, William Delaney and Trent Delaney of Grenada; a sister, Vonceil Wilson of Chicago, Ill.

James William Fullilove
    James William Fullilove, 75, passed away at his home Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012. He was the son of Erby and Nellie G. Fullilove.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at Garner-Harper Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Grenada Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
    Mr. Fullilove was a retired fireman and a mason.
    He is survived by his sons, James Allen Fullilove of Texas, William and David Fullilove both of Grenada; step-sons, Randy and Dennis Moss; daughter, Barbara Massie of Grenada; step-daughter, Pam Malone; three sisters, Leona Lane of Tutwiler, Gennelle Matthews of Woodland, Okla., and  Myrtis Holland of Greenville, Miss.; five grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Jean Fondren Fullilove; five brothers, Kenneth Fullilove, Carl Fullilove, Marvin Fullilove, T.C. Fullilove, and Donnie Fullilove.

Bessie L. Hubbard McIntyre
    Funeral services for Bessie L. Hubbard McIntyre, 70, of Grenada, formerly of Tallahatchie County, are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Greater Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Gore Springs. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
    Visitation is Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Clark-Williams Funeral Home Chapel.
    Mrs. McIntyre died Aug. 21, 2012, at her home of heart failure.
    She was born on March 10, 1942.
    Mrs. McIntyre was a brazer at Heatcraft and a member of Greater Pleasant Grove M.B. Church.
    Surviving Mrs. McIntyre are five daughters, Rashanda Miller of Georgia, Valencia Hubbard, Lorraine Hubbard, Tammy Hubbard and Kayel Harrington all of Mississippi; seven siblings, Mary Sewornu of Flordia, Sherley Strode, Gloris Berryhill, Julius Hubbard, Deborah Thompson, Verna K. Tillman, and Carolinda Hubbard, all of Mississippi.

Francis McRee

    Francis “Henry” McRee, 84, of Grenada, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at the Glen Haven Health and Rehab in Northport, Ala.  
    Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at National Funeral Home. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22,, at the National Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial followed in Grenada Memorial Gardens.
    Henry was born on Sep. 11, 1927, in Brookhaven to Marion Rudolph McRee Sr. and Laurie Lewis McRee. He was a member of the Van Dorn Church of Christ, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a graduate of Ole Miss. Mr. McRee was the former owner of McRee Southern Farm Eggs and a retired chicken farmer.
    Mr. McRee was preceded in death by his parents, his two wives, Mary Joyce Gregory McRee and Lettie Marie Purcell McRee, and a brother, Rudolph McRee.
    Survivors include four daughters, Laurie Burgher and her husband, Mike, of Des Moines, Iowa, Joy Piper and her husband, Frank, of Northport, Ala., Fran Magoni and her husband, Mark, of Macon, Ga., and Marie Lane of Grenada; one son, Paul McRee and his wife, Tammie of Grenada; one sister, Ruthie McDearmon of Cleveland, Miss.; one brother, Bryant McRee of Grenada; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
    National Funeral Home was in charge.

John Henry Scott
    Funeral services for John Henry Scott, 82, of Grenada, are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Oxberry. Burial will follow in Haven Rest Cemetery.
    Visitation is Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Clark-Williams Funeral Home.
    Mr. Scott died Aug. 17, 2012, at University Medical Center in Jackson of cardiac arrest.
    He was born on Sept. 8, 1929.
    He was a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church and a long time resident of Oxberry.
    Surviving Mr. Scott are his wife, Emma Lee Scott of Grenada; five daughters, Glenda Broome of Antioch, Calif., Emma J. McKinney of Grenada, Christine Morgan and Rosia Alexander of Oakland, and Mary E. Scott of San Leandro, Calif.; three sons, James R. Scott of Garland, Texas, Charles H. Scott of Oakland and Jeffery L. Scott of Grenada; seven sisters, Elma Phillips and Betty Scott-Elliott of Evanston, Ill., Thelma Billes of Racine, Wis., Rosia Mary Horne and Bernice Johnson of Oakland, Calif., Effie M. Boyd of Chicago, Ill., and Martha Ratcliff of Texas; four brothers, Charles Scott, Walter Scott and Roger Scott, all of Evanston, Ill., and James Scott of Pittsburg, Pa.

Levern Mitchell Spencer

    Funeral services for Levern Mitchell “Lee” Spencer, 72, of Grenada, formerly of Duck Hill, are at 2 p.m. at Greater Pine Hill M.B. Church. Burial will follow in Haven Rest Cemetery.
    Visitation is Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Clark-Williams Funeral Home.
    Mrs. Spencer died Aug. 19, 2012, at her home.
    She was born on Aug. 21, 1939.
    Mrs. Spencer was retired from Heatcraft and a member of Second New Hope M.B. Church.
Preceding Mrs. Spencer in death is her husband, Willie Clyde Spencer Sr.
    Surviving Mrs. Spencer are five daughters, Diane Spencer and Debra Kay Spencer of Grenada, Patricia Ashley of Colorado Springs, Colo., Rita Renee Herron of Huntsville, Ala., and Kanecia Latasha Spencer of Memphis; four sons, Willie Clyde Spencer Jr., Gary Spencer, Michael Spencer and Scottie Spencer, all of Grenada; two sisters, Mary Ellen Barnes and Louise Williams of Grenada.

Mary Ann Tanksley

    Mary Ann Tanksley, 76, of Greenwood died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
    Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home followed by services at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Odd Fellows East Cemetery. Bro. John Shackelford and Bro. Van Franklin will officiate.
    Mrs. Tanksley lived in Greenwood for 45 year. At retirement, some 11 years ago, she was working for Irvin Industries of Greenwood. She attended Christ Baptist Church in Greenwood.
    Mrs. Tanksley was preceded in death by her parents, James and Etta Wilburn; her husband, Kinnie; and  a sister, Hazel Anderson. She enjoyed reading and her grandchildren.
    She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Bowles and husband, Mike, of Grenada and Wanda Wiggins and husband, Terry, of Carrollton; two sons, James Tanksley and wife, Betty, of Carrollton and Robert  Tanksley and wife, Brenda, of Carrollton; two brothers, Harold  Wilburn and wife, Margie, of Phillipston, Miss., and Bob Wilburn and wife, Wilma, of Chicago, Ill. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    Pallbearers will be David Swider, Frank Swider, Walter Swider, Robert Earl Joiner, Shelby Hayes and Rob Joiner Jr.

Joshua Washington

    Funeral services for Joshua Washington, 36, of Water Valley, are at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home.
    Visitation is Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Mr. Washington died Aug. 18, 2012.  
    He was the son of the late Alfreda Jean Sleep Washington.
    Mr. Washington was a truck driver with Lenard Trucking Company and was a member of Paris Baptist Church in Paris, Miss.
    Surviving Mr. Washington are his wife, Alissa Anderson Washington of Water Valley; two daughters, Stacey Washington and Stephanie Washington of Water Valley; three sons, Bradley Washington, Joseph Washington and Brandon Washington, all of Water Valley; three sisters, Kelley Fuller of Colorado City, Texas, Robin Kimberly Smith of Sheridan, Wyo., and Carrie Chappelle of Corinth; a brother, Cayce Washington of Water Valley.
