James E. Grimes
   James E. Grimes, 84, of Tillatoba, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at his home.  
   Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 6, at National Funeral Home. Funeral services are at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, at National Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fletcher Moorman officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery in Grenada.
   James was born on Jan. 4, 1928, in Yalobusha County to Bert and Thelma Petty Grimes. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Grenada. James was employed by the Grenada School District until his retirement. Mr. Grimes loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed being in the outdoors.
   Mr. Grimes was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Thelma Grimes; his wife, Earnestine Scott Grimes; one daughter, Darlene Jackson; one son, Wade Grimes; one brother, Johnny Grimes; and two sisters, Verlin Hartman and Dorothy Hanks.
   Survivors include one brother, Jimmy Grimes of Memphis and three grandchildren, Melinda Box, B.J. Jackson, and Clay Scott.
   National Funeral Home is in charge.

Bobby Chamberlain Leverette Sr.
   Bobby Chamberlain Leverette Sr., 74, of Grenada, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.
   Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, July 6, at Duck Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Friday at Duck Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Harris and Bro. Pete Heath officiating. Burial will be in Duck Hill Cemetery.
   Pallbearers will include Jesse Leverette, Sid Leverette, Trent Leverette, Cliff Leverette, David Parker, Greg Minton, Reid Grant, James Grant, Marvin Able Jr., Charles Holmes, James Irby Franklin, Will Grant, Travis Mathews, Gray Starnes, and Terry Toole.
   Bobby was born on June 24, 1938, in Grenada to James Clifford Leverette Sr. and Lena Heath Leverette. He had worked around the automotive industry all of his life and was the owner and operator of Leverette and Son Auto Glass in Grenada.
   Mr. Leverette was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lena Leverette; one sister, Dorothy "Dot" Parker; and three brothers, Eugene "Bubba" Leverette, James Clifford Leverette Jr. and Billy Leverette.
   Survivors include his wife, Charlene Magee Leverette of Grenada; one daughter, Rina Lee Downs and her husband, George, of Grenada; one son, Bobby Chamberlain Leverette Jr. and his wife, Jill, of Grenada; four sisters, Eleanor “Sister” Evans of Water Valley, Jeannine Bradshaw of Jackson, Joanne Finn of Memphis, and Betty Minton of Rutherford, Tenn.; one brother, Jesse Leverette of Madison, Miss.; and two grandchildren, Taylor Magee Leverette and Campbell Elaine Leverette.
   In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to Duck Hill Baptist Church, LeBonhuer Hospital or French Camp Academy.
   National Funeral Home is in charge.

Elene Grantham Trussell
   Elene Grantham Trussell, 85, of Ruleville and formerly of Grenada, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Ruleville Nursing and Rehab Center.  
   Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at National Funeral Funeral Home. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday in National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery at Gore Springs.
   Ellene was born on April 5, 1927, in Carroll County to James Oliver and Mary Myrtle Vance Grantham. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed beautiful flowers, music and most of all her great Christian friends.
   Mrs. Trussell was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sidney Trussell and her parents, J.O. and Myrtle Grantham.
   Survivors include her son, Ken Trussell of Grenada; two sisters, Jean Schiele and Dene Gray (John) of Grenada; two grandchildren, Tiffany Dawn Martin and Bradley Cole Trussell; three great-grandchildren, Austin Doyle Vance, Leah Ashton Martin and Sidney Lee Martin.
   Bro. John Gray and Bro. Larry Kilgore will be officiating the services.
   National Funeral Home is in charge.
