Bobby Chamberlain Leverette Sr.,
74, of Grenada, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East in
Memphis.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, July 6, at
Duck Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Friday at
Duck Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Harris and Bro. Pete Heath
officiating. Burial will be in Duck Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Jesse
Leverette, Sid Leverette, Trent Leverette, Cliff Leverette, David Parker, Greg
Minton, Reid Grant, James Grant, Marvin Able Jr., Charles Holmes, James Irby
Franklin, Will Grant, Travis Mathews, Gray Starnes, and Terry Toole.
Bobby was born on June 24, 1938, in
Grenada to James Clifford Leverette Sr. and Lena Heath Leverette. He had
worked around the automotive industry all of his life and was the owner and
operator of Leverette and Son Auto Glass in Grenada.
Mr. Leverette was preceded in death
by his parents, James and Lena Leverette; one sister, Dorothy "Dot" Parker; and
three brothers, Eugene "Bubba" Leverette, James Clifford Leverette Jr. and
Billy Leverette.
Survivors include his wife,
Charlene Magee Leverette of Grenada; one daughter, Rina Lee Downs and her
husband, George, of Grenada; one son, Bobby Chamberlain Leverette Jr. and his
wife, Jill, of Grenada; four sisters, Eleanor “Sister” Evans of Water Valley,
Jeannine Bradshaw of Jackson, Joanne Finn of Memphis, and Betty Minton of
Rutherford, Tenn.; one brother, Jesse Leverette of Madison, Miss.; and two
grandchildren, Taylor Magee Leverette and Campbell Elaine Leverette.
In lieu of flowers, the family
requests that donation be made to Duck Hill Baptist Church, LeBonhuer Hospital
or French Camp Academy.
National Funeral Home is in charge.
