It’s been just five years since Matt McCrory was throwing passes for the Grenada Chargers.
Now, McCrory returns to the sidelines as a coach.
New Grenada High football coach Ashley Kuhn recently announced the hiring of McCrory to his staff. He will be in charge of quarterbacks.
“We are excited to have Matt as part of our staff,” Kuhn said. “He brings a wealth of knowledge having grown up around football his entire life. He brings more to the table than most first-year coaches. His enthusiasm for the game will be a plus for our football team.”
McCrory played football for his father John McCrory at GHS. After high school, he played two seasons at Holmes Community College in Goodman for two seasons.
McCrory completed his education at Miss. State. During his practice teaching time, he worked with strength and conditioning at Starkville High School with Jamie Mitchell.
“I’m looking forward to being part of Coach Kuhn’s staff,” McCrory said. “Grenada has always been a special place to me and I want to be able to give back to a place that gave so much to me.”
McCrory is engaged to Amanda Pyron of Hazelhurst.
