Joe Brown

Joe Brown Jr., 77, of Memphis, Tenn., died Wednesday at Delta Medical Center.

Mr. Brown was a factory worker. He was a member of True Bibleway Church.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at True Bibleway Church with Bishop F.M. Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Branch.

Mr. Brown is survived by six sons, Lawerance Brown of Oakland, James Brown of Cleveland, George Brown, Joe Eddie Brown, Charlie Brown, all of Charleston and Roger Brown of Memphis, Tenn.; five daughters, Cordie Scott Brown of Cleveland, Shirley Bradford of Grenada, Earnestine Hankins, Sylvia Brown, both of Memphis, Tenn. and Naomi Bibbs of West Memphis, Ark.; and four brothers, Percy Brown, Tyrone Brown, both of Charleston, Solomon Brown of Columbus, Ohio and Jerry Brown of Memphis, Tenn.

Richard E. Brown

Richard Earl Brown Jr., 21, of Grenada, died Sunday at Grenada Lake Medical Center.

Mr. Brown was employed with Brown's Electric Repair Shop. He was a member of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.D. Willis officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in Duck Hill.

Mr. Brown is survived by his father, Richard Brown Sr. of Grenada; his mother, Annie Faye Brown; his step-mother, Carla Brown; a step-father, L.D. Mitchell; two sisters, Lakesha L. Dumes of Indianapolis, Ind. and Tiffany M. Brown of Grenada; three step-brothers, Demarcus Mitchell, Kristna Mitchell and Lewis D. Mitchell III; a step-sister, Crystal Bridges of Grenada; and his grandparents, James and Birdia Davis of Grenada, John and Janie Rosenthall of Carrollton, and Leo and Amanda Vinson of Indianapolis, Ind.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Annie F. Covington

Annie Faye 'Lil Annie' Covington, 23, of Water Valley, died Wednesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford.

Ms Covington was a former child caregiver and assistant librarian. She was a member of Miles Memorial Christian Episcopal Church.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Spring Hill North Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Adam Tyson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Ms Covington is survived by her parents, W.C. and Annie M. Covington of Water Valley; a brother, James W. Covington of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Linda Covington Williams of Memphis, Tenn.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Everette Hubbard

Everette 'Man' Hubbard Jr., 33, of Fayetteville, Ark., a native of Grenada, died August 12 at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark.

Mr. Hubbard was a supervisor and a graduate of Eupora High School. He was a member of Greater Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Gore Springs.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Greater Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. I.L. Conley officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Hubbard is survived by a son, Alvin D. Gill of Gore Springs; a daughter, Shalia Gill of Eupora; his parents, Everette and Elnora Hubbard of Gore Springs; three brothers, Earl Conley of Fayetteville, Ark., Jeffery Hubbard and Patrick Hubbard, both of Gore Springs; two sisters, Lynn L. Conley of Orlando, Fla. and Jeanette Hubbard of Gore Springs.

Eula Pratt

Eula Pratt, 83, of Grenada, died August 11 at her residence.

Mrs. Pratt was a homemaker. She was also a Baptist.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Wardell Sawyer officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Pratt was preceded in death by her husband, Ezzie Lee Pratt; a son, Joe Earl Pratt; a daughter, Catherine Pratt; her parents, Daniel and Courtney Williams; four brothers; and four sisters.

She is survived by three sons, J.D. Pratt, Ray Pratt, both of Grenada and Ralph Pratt of Minneapolis, Minn.; two daughters, Elsie Moss and Mel McCaa, both of Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Havanah Pryor of Grenada; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Susie M. Sumlin

BATESVILLE - Susie Mae Sumlin, 62, of Oakland, died August 10 at the Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Mrs. Sumlin was a homemaker. She was a member of Lighthouse Church of Christ Jesus Apostolic Faith Church in Oxford.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tallahatchie-Oxford Mississippi Association Building in Oxford. Burial will be in Lighthouse Church of Christ Jesus Apostolic Faith Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the mortuary.

Mrs. Sumlin is survived by a son, John Wesley Sumlin of Oakland; two daughters, Margaret Suggs of Oakland and Frances Miller of Randolph; her father, Earlie Rhodes of Queens, N. Y.; three brothers, Gene Crump, Richard Crump, both of Oakland and Sidney Crump of Holly Springs; three sisters, Bobbie Hervey of Oxford, Annie Lee Coffey of Memphis, Tenn. and Martha Clark of Sardis; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Rebecca E. Woodruff

CHARLESTON - Rebecca Ellen Woodruff, 39, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Charleston, died Thursday at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Miss Woodruff was a homemaker.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church near Enid. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Miss Woodruff is survived by a sister, Judy Woodruff Dees of Enid.
