Those who don’t use text messaging can now receive notices about threatening weather, thanks to a new system purchased by the Grenada Emergency Operations Center.
According to EOC Director Trebia Rodgers, the Code Red Weather Warning System can send texts as well as make calls to both cell phones and home phones.
The EOC already sends out texts to those on the Nixle System, warning of threatening weather.
Those who didn’t get texts, however, were out of the loop.
“This new system will expand our range, allowing us to reach people who previously did not receive notifications, and that means a safer Grenada,” said Rodgers.
