As you very well know, I have not written an article in a few months, but watching this situation in Missouri brought me to the point of needing to speak out.
I can very well understand the outrage over this young man being shot down in the street, but that incident is not where the real outrage needs to be focused. The real outrage needs to be about our “so called” Supreme Court striking down almost every law passed that affects blacks in this country.
There should be outrage about the ghost leader of the Republican party, Rush Limbaugh spreading his garbage throughout the nation. There should be real outrage about the legislators not allowing any sensible legislation to pass about sensible gun laws, job creation, health laws, minimum wage, women’s protection, immigration and many other pressing issues.
We should be outraged over “stand your ground laws,” voter registration that is trying to take us back to Jim Crow days and women’s reproductive laws.
What could happen in every city, town and hamlet in this country is the same thing that is going on in Missouri if some of these laws don’t change.
Starting this fall every black, Latino, Asian, Arab, woman, gay, minimum wage earner, union member, unemployed and people without health care need to be at the head of the line trying to vote, because that is the only way anything will change.
Otherwise, you can continue to keep your head in the sand, sit on your duff and let this and let    Limbaugh’s Congress take over both houses of Congress, impeach the President, get rid of the health care law, let McCain and Graham start a war with Russia, North Korea and Iran, cut minimum wage to $3 an hour and let fossil fuel destroy the planet. Then, I guess, we will have the America we want.
Mark my words: together we stand, divided we fall.
