The Grenada Chargers understood what they were almost able to pull off this past Friday night.
That understanding was that GHS was within a couple of plays of winning at tradition-rich West Point. Learning from their mistakes is something that fourth-year coach Ashley Kuhn propels them into a solid 2014 campaign.
“I think our guys understand that they lost to a good football team,” Kuhn said. “It was a game that we had a chance to win. We went back and looked at the film and saw we need to do a better job of executing.”
Another area Grenada has concentrated on this week is eliminating the miscommunication in the huddle. Senior Deon Knox was playing just his second game under center.
“We have worked this week to simplify the language of the play call,” Kuhn said. “It should make things easier for everyone.”
Pass catching was another problem in the opener.
