Veteran coach Scott Martin knows that his team can’t afford to fall behind by 14 points in a game this season and expect to win.
Saturday, the Tigers found themselves down 14-0 against Class 4A foe Ripley. That’s when Charleston decided it was time to turn things up.
They used a 25-7 second period and won a 25-21 decision at Vaught-Hemingway Saturday in Oxford.
Charleston was one of three area schools taking part in the day-long event. Water Valley won a 14-13 decision over Corinth. Winona came away with a 34-0 decision against Potts Camp.
