The Elizabeth Jones Library has 12 new computers and a new, faster server to meet the needs of Grenada patrons.
Microsoft stopped offering updates for the Windows XP edition of software, so libraries really had no choice but to upgrade at least to Windows 7. The newest version is Windows 8.
“We chose Windows 7 because the majority of our patrons are familiar with it,” said Library Director Crystal Osborne.
The new computers and software are pretty nifty, Osborne said.
“We got a grant, funded under the federal Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Mississippi Library Commission,” said Osborne.
