Grenada students and teachers will hit the ground running with a full slate of activities planned for the beginning of the school year.
“We’re extremely excited about the beginning of school because it presents a fresh opportunity, after a nice break, for our students and teachers to demonstrate their commitment to excellence,” said Superintendent Dr. David Daigneault.
Throughout June, GSD provided an extended school year for students who needed help in certain academic areas. Around 20 students per grade took advantage of the special help, Daigneault said.
Students are picking up their schedules this week, and teachers will be back in their classrooms for professional development on August 4 and  5. Meet the teacher day is August 6, and classes begin August 7 for all grades.
“Of course we’re excited about the beginning of the academic year, but at GSD we pride ourselves on being able to offer every student a variety of activities through which to express themselves and contribute to their overall development,” said Daigneault “We stress excellence in the Four A’s, said Daigneault: Academics, athletics, art and activities.”
