Mickey Hodges of Staten Construction operates a trackhoe at the new Atmos Energy building on Highway 8 West.

Atmos Energy will soon move into a new facility on Highway 8 West.
Crews are moving dirt and putting down the foundation for the new office building and warehouse, just west of Grenada Nissan.
“We hope to be moved in sometime in September,” said  Vice President for Operations for the Northern Region of Mississippi, Karen Cummins.
Atmos has had an office at the intersection of Highway 8 East and Commerce Street for some 30 years, Cummins said, and they’ve become part of the fabric of the business community in the Lake City.
The new facility will sit on a three-acre lot, and will include 6,500 square feet of office space and a 6,000-square-foot warehouse.
The building will have nice amenities.
